This complete program combines many activities, which will made this experience in Cusco amazing. This is the best way to get to know the most pristine areas of Cusco, meeting real local people and enjoying the most outstanding landscapes in the region, combined with full activity. We will pick you up from Cusco Airport for a 20 minutes transfer to your hotel, where you will have some time to relax and get acclimatized. In the afternoon we will walk thorugh the main attractions of the city, such as the typical Central Market. Cobble-stoned streets lined with Inca walls connect important sites like the Cathedral with the Temple of the Sun (Koricancha) found inside the church of Santo Domingo. This afternoon activity it is a great way to orientate yourself in the city and get acclimatized at the same time.
Early departure from your hotel to the Sacred Valley towards Pisac. Driving up, near the Pisac Citadel, we will arrive to Amaru, where our hosts will welcome us explaining their daily life, traditions, and the work that the Association does on behalf of the traditional culture. After a short brie_ng, we will go towards the _elds to learn the ancestral traditions of harvesting and/or cultivating. Later we will head up to the local guest house to eat a delicious lunch for beginning the “Weaving workshop”, including a hike through a native forest and visiting the association’s nursery, where we will choose the plants that we will use to dye our _bers. We will also discover the medicinal and culinary properties of some of these plants.
We leave early to the rock wall located in Pachar between Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. A Via Ferrata is a type of rock climb on an established route with a safety system permanently installed, it gives people with no experience in climbing and using minimal equipment, the opportunity to move through spectacular mountain scenery. Climb a rock wall 300 meters, the safest way. After lunch we will traverse over to the Zipline line that gives you the opportunity to _fly over this magnifi_cent place. The zip-lines are a series of 5 lines or cables, from 100 to 500 m, for a total of 2000 m.. Return to the Hotel
Early pick up from your hotel in the Sacred Valley for an approximately 40 minute bus-ride to Lake Piuray (3696 m / 12130 ft) As we arrive we will find our camping site already set up. Once on the shore, we will receive a safety briefing to get familiar with the kayaking equipment. We will start paddling, enjoying outstanding scenery, with surrounding hills with farm terraces and forrests and with a beautiful view of “La Veronica” snow-capped mountain. We will be able to enjoy spectacular shows of some endemic and some migratory birds. After paddling, we will an Andean style Picnic lunch cooked with local products. We will have time to rest next to the lake and take all the afternoon free, resting, walking or kayaking next to the camp site. At night, we will enjoy a _re next to the lagoon, and be able to see an open sky with lots of stars and if we are lucky some shooting stars too.
Early wake up with the beautiful view of the lake and the snowcapped mountains behind. We will enjoy a super breakfast and we will get ready to embark on this full day mountain bike experience. Beginning from the camp site, we will head up to Chinchero. Passing the Huaypo lagoon we’ll arrive at the Archaeological Park of Moray, where we’ll stay for more or less 20 minutes to enjoy the beauty of nature and archaeology. Continuing our trip we arrive at Maras, a tasty picnic will be waiting for us. After lunch, we will go on riding to the terraces of salt below Maras and then again a downhill 40 minutes approx, arriving in the Sacred Valley (Pichingoto, Tarabamba). From here, a bus will take us to Ollantaytambo for a quick shower and a time to rest, for taking the train (7:00 m) approximately to get to Aguas Calientes, where we will pass the night and be prepared for next’s day adventure.
Wake up early to catch the bus that will take us to the Machu Picchu citadel entrance, about a 30 minutes ride. You will enjoy a guided visit that on average takes three hours as your o_cial guide walks you through the di_erent sectors of the hill-top citadel, with astonishing views, telling you aspects of life here that will take you back in time. Lunch is included. In the afternoon return to the Machu Picchu Village where the train will take you back to Ollantaytambo to take a bus ride directly to your hotel in Cusco.
With all the energy that you might have gathered while your stay in Cusco, we will take you from your hotel to the Cusco Airport for your _ight back to Lima or any other destination of your program. We will assist you in the Airport until saying goobye!
