Itinerary

Day 1CITY TOUR LIMA & BARRANCO

We will be assisted in Lima’s airport and head up to the colonial part of Lima, its historic downtown, before getting lunch next to the Pacific Ocean. The colonial downtown city tour includes the visit of many imposing colonial churches and mansions such as the Government Palace, Plaza Mayor, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Convento de San Francisco, jewels of the sixteenth century colonial architecture. The tour continues along the Pacific Ocean, driving to the modern district of Miraflores, where we will stop to have a special lunch, next to the Ocean and having a tasty local Cebiche. After Lunch, we will be transferred to our Hotel to rest and be ready to visit the bohemian district of Barranco. In Barranco we have many options to visit Museums and Art Galleries, it depends on our likes. Later, while being in Barranco we will stop to have dinner and eat traditional food of Lima: Anticuchos (small pieces of grilled skewered meat) and Picarones. After this tasty local food, we will be transferred to our Hotel, dinner at your own. L

Day 2 PACHACAMAC

You will be picked up from your hotel and will travel to the South on the Pan-American Highway towards Pachacamac, located thirty minutes from Lima City. This archaeological complex, built in 200 AD, is one of the most important Pre-Inca religious centers on the Peruvian coast. It originally belonged to the Ichma culture (although it was mostly built by the Wari people and subsequently conquered by the Incas); the sanctuary is located 30 kilometers South of Lima and it was the place of worship of Pachacamac, the god who created the world. The religious center, which houses several temples, operated for centuries until the arrival of the Spaniards, when the fall of the Inca Empire finally started. You will then go to Mamacona, to have lunch in Lima’s green countryside and enjoy a Criolle Lunch accompanied with a traditional Paso Horse show. You will return to your hotel at the end of the tour. Day 3LARCO MUSEUM

After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the Larco Museum located in the traditional Pueblo Libre district. Founded by Rafael Larco Hoyle in 1926, the museum is located inside a vice regal mansion built on a pre-Columbian pyramid of the 7th century and it houses the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver artifacts as well pieces of erotic art. Over 45,000 archaeological artifacts bear witness of five thousand years of Peruvian history. You will have the opportunity to have lunch inside the exclusive Museo Larco Restaurante & Cafe. Finally, after enjoying a tasty lunch, you will be transferred to Lima’s Jorge Chavez Airport. B
