Suggested itinerary for Cusco & the Inca Trail


Day 1 - arrival to Cusco - Waman Qorikancha, standard room with breakfast, 3 nights

On arrival you will be met and taken by private transfer to your hotel, Waman Qorikancha. This boutique hotel offers a great central location with a charming, colonial style ambiance. Rooms are spacious and some offer a view to Qorikancha. Rest of day at leisure.

Day 2 – Cusco - Private city tour and local ruins

Returning back down to Cusco, we continue the tour with a visit to the city’s main sites: The Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Inca Walls with the iconic 12 angled stone and the Temple of the Sun (Koricancha) inside the Santo Domingo Temple. At the end of the walk through the city, you will make your way back to your hotel, continuing with shopping and site-seeing.

Day 3 – Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu (group departures Wednesday & Sunday)

Days 4-5 - Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu

Trekking as per trail details.

Day 6 - arrival to Machu Picchu Waman Inn, standard room with breakfast, 1 night

Afternoon arrival to Machu Picchu and bus transfer to Aguas Calientes for overnight. Waman Inn is located on a quiet side street and offers comfortable rooms and a hearty breakfast. From the breakfast room, enjoy the spectacular mountain vistas and the morning swirling mists.

Day 7 – Machu Picchu Waman Qorikancha, standard room with breakfast, 1 night

Guided tour of the citadel followed by lunch in Aguas Calientes town. After lunch return to Aguas Calientes for the train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy and transfer to Cusco.

Add the hike to Huayna Picchu for an extra $80 per person – trek time 10am

Day 8 – depart Cusco

Private transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
