The Best Bars in Lima

Sharing the same name as the famous ancient plant medicine used in this region of theworld, you know this will be a good stop. Set in an old colonial-style mansion turned into acarnival-fun-house of a bar, Ayahuasca is a marvelously unique experience. Walk from floor tofloor wandering the different nooks of this converted mansion. While you wander, sure to try oneof their MANY decadent cocktails.

Gran Hotel Bolivar
The most historical spot on the list is the Gran Hotel Bolivar. Famous icons such asErnest Hemingway and Walt Disney have walked the halls of this hotel. The pisco sour here isjust as infamous as the building itself. Incredibly talented bartenders will shake up a tasty sour -they even have a jumbo size one called the Pisco Cathedral!
Bodega Piselli
Attention all bargain lovers! This place is hands down the best bang for your buck. Cutthe noise and enjoy no music, no wifi, and get prepared to connect face-to-face. Bodega Piselli is a local favorite and the perfect spot to enjoy a chat over a reasonably-priced pisco sour.
Barra 55
Fancy a nice gin and tonic? Then you’ll fancy Barra 55, located in the hip area of Barranco. Thisspot is easy to miss as it is a sign-free, unassuming doorway, making it feel more like aspeakeasy than a hip cocktail bar. Serving over 20 variety of gins and a large assortment oftonics, this will be a stop you’ll want to make on your night out. The interior is intriguing withsplashes of color and Scandinavian furnishing. Pair your G & T or craft beer with some of thedelicious tapas offered. We hear the cured alpaca sausage is not to be missed.
Orient Express Bar
Arguably our favorite interior decor on the list is the Orient Express Bar. Teleport into anold train car, the impeccably decorated bar will blow you away with the atmosphere – and thepisco sours too of course!
El Dragon
Looking to dance while on your holiday? Look no further, El Dragon is the place to go.Centrally located in Barranco, this bar always has something going on. From a DJ to a band, besure to check the calendar and enjoy the mixed crowd the shows bring in.
Barranco Beer Company
Calling all beer lovers! This is the place to try a range of local, delicious craft beers. Thismulti-story bar will remind you of your favorite microbrewery at home: industrial-style decor,good beer, plenty of TVs, and a lively atmosphere.
La Noche de Barranco
Get ready to bask in incredible live music. Similar to Ayahuasca, La Noche is set in arevamped Barranco mansion. Say goodbye to worrying about missing the music as you cancatch at least two bands every night Monday through Saturday. Worked up an appetite whiledancing? Dive into their incredible menu, and may we recommend the anticuchos (beef heartskewers).
Bar at Hotel Maury
Open since 1821, making Bar Maury one of the oldest bars on the list. This hotel claims to have invented the pisco sour. True or not – take a trip back in time with this cozy, wood-paneled bar. Located near Plaza Mayor, makes the Maury a great stop during a day of sightseeing.
