Rainforest Alliance Recertified: Explorandes Continues to Follow the Frog

[:en]The Explorandes Team are thrilled to announce we have once again passed the rigorous auditing process to prove we are a company that meets the highest sustainability standards in the tourism industry, and as such have renewed our Rainforest Alliance Certified status.

The evaluation examines 3 critical areas of management: environmental, social-cultural and economic. The most crucial being our participation in social-cultural initiatives; in particular, our support to local community projects and sustainable practices in renewable recourses. As a green tour operator from our inception, Sustainability has been always been at the forefront in all we do and we couldn’t be happier to continue to wear this seal of approval.

What does this mean?

From our 8 day Inca Trail Treks to our half day Cultural City Tours, the Sales Team in the office to the Porter Guides on the front line, and each and every service, operation and practice in-between; we stand together to strengthen our commitment to mitigate climate change and strive to be industry leaders showing the way for others to follow.  Making it our responsibility to use our natural recourses wisely, protect nearby ecosystems, and make it a priority to benefit the social and cultural development of our neighboring communities.

When we we work together as a team we strengthen forces, however we are reminded that change always begins from within, and each of us need to contribute as best we can. Remember to turn off the lights and tap when not in use and always remember to reduce, reuse, recycle and recover wherever possible.

Learn more about our three community projects, in association with our friends and partners from the native communities of Amaru and Umasbamba in the Sacred Valley, and Llachon, in Puno here.
