The tap water in most of Ecuador is drinkable, but the chemical content varies from place to place.To avoid problems, we recommend you to drink only bottled or previously boiled water and to bring a water bottle, especially if you will be traveling outside of the larger cities.Bottled mineral water, with or without carbonation is available at all hotels, ships, and lodges.
To prevent dehydration, specially in the mountains, It is recommended to drink three liters of liquids daily – water, tea or sodas.
