Innovation
Over the years, we have become well known for our innovation and spirit of exploration, with many “firsts” under our belt: First Tour Company to operate commercial treks on the Inca Trail, the Cordillera Vilcabamba, Cordillera Carabaya and some trails in the Cordillera Huayhuash; First descents on rivers like: the Santa, Cañete, Tambopata, Apurimac, Tumbes (Perú) and Puyango, Toachi, Huayllabamba and Upano rivers (Ecuador), to name a few. We have also pioneered on the Community Inclusion tendency as in 2003 we started a joint-venture seakayaking operation on Lake Titicaca (Titikayak) with a local Quechua family as partners.
Safety
We have a 24-hour emergency contact number for operations in Lima, Cusco, Huaraz, Puno and Arequipa. For Adventure Travel, we have yearly training courses for guides and field staff to review hazard procedures and ensure adequate risk management. A complete first-aid seminar is provided to minimize health hazards and in case of incidents, that the adequate administration of medicines can be provided.All vehicles we use have a first aid kit and oxygen available (at High Altitude). Hotels we work with have doctors on call, fire hazard and natural disaster procedures, certified by Civil Defense.
Comfort
On our Adventure operations we supply comfortable, clean and functional equipment, imported from renowned manufacturers that guarantee quality and comfort, delivering a standard of service difficult to find among other operators. We also work with a great number of hotels which are periodically inspected to ensure hygiene, cleanliness and compliance with standards for their category.
Certified Environmental Commitment
We are an organization dedicated to experiential tourism, recognizing our responsibility to preserve the environment and to minimize negative impacts and promote the positive ones -both environmental and social in our operations and services in order to avoid negative effects on our workers, visitors, suppliers, local populations and the natural environment.
Our Environmental Management System (EMS) which includes social responsibility and sustainable practices has been certified as an ISO 14001 process in 2003, in 2006 our EMS was audited and re-certified. In June 2010 we have received our latest re-certification.
