Cusco and Puno Intense

Day 1 LIMA

Arrival and transfer to your hotel.  If you arrive early we can arrange optional tours to museums or to visit the city and surrounding sites.  Overnight at hotel, lunch and dinner on your own.


Day 2 LIMA/CUSCO

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Cusco. On arrival in the course of the morning, you will be transferred to a hotel, rest of the morning free to acclimatize, lunch on your own.  Afternoon tour of the city and nearby ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Tambomachay and visit the main sites in the city – Inca temples and colonial churches.  Overnight at hotel, dinner on your own. B


Day 3 F/D RIVER RAFTING

Leaving early we will be taken to our put-in point in Southern Cusco.  There are 2 options, for Adventurous rafters you can take the Chuquicahuana rafting with class 3 and 4 rapids; for families you can take the Piñipampa class 2 and 3 fun rapids- a  safety  and familiarization  briefing  will  be  followed by a float on chosen section of the river. Picnic Lunch will be provided, drive towards the Sacred Valley for overnight.  Depending on arrival time and energy, optional activities in the sacred valley surroundings can be provided.  Dinner on your own.  (River: 3 hours.  Tours: 3 hours.) Day 4 F/D BIKE MARAS/MORAY

Pick up from your hotel in private vehicle for a 40  minute ride to the point of Cruzpata, where we start our bike ride. Passing the lagoon of Huaypo we´ll arrive at the Archaeological Park of Moray, an Inca agricultural laboratory where we´ll   enjoy the beauty of nature and archaeology. This part of the tour is very attractive because of its permanent ups and downs. Continuing our trip we arrive at Maras where a tasty picnic will be waiting for us.  Afterwards a 1 hour downhill ride lets us feel the peace of the Andean countryside. So enjoy your freedom. After this great lunch, go on riding to the terraces of salt below Maras and then again a downhill of 40 minutes approx. Continue to the Sacred Valley (Pichingoto, Tarabamba), where we end our bike tour and be transferred back to your hotel. B/BL


Day 5 INCA TRAIL EXPRESS - CUSCO / KM. 104 / CHACHABAMBA / WIÑAY WAYNA / MACHU PICCHU

Leaving your hotel, transfer to the olllanta train station to board on the early train, downstream along the Urubamba river in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.  As the Valley becomes a canyon the cloud forest begins to appear with a marked vegetation change as we reach the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.  Getting off the train, we cross a hanging bridge at km. 104 to the Chachabamba site, and after a brief visit begins a three hour ascent to the ruins of Wiñay Wayna, an important spiritual site.  The Inca Trail cuts across the ridge above Machu Picchu to finally reach Intipunku the door of the sun from where the trail winds downhill.  The classic vista into the lost citadel located right above the Urubamba River will be a unique experience; it is the most exquisite way to see Machu Picchu for the first time. Overnight at a Hotel in Machu Picchu Village. Dinner on your own. B/BL


Day 6 MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

After an early breakfast visit the citadel and surrounding complexes.  You have the opportunity for an in depth tour of this world renowned site before returning to Cusco, giving you a chance to see the spectacular views without other tourists in your pictures.  Optional hike up to the top of Wayna Picchu.  Lunch included.  Return by train to Cusco (or the Sacred Valley).  Dinner not included. B/L


Day 7 CUSCO

Day at leisure to rest do some shopping or roam around the city on your own.  Lunch and dinner on your own. B


Day 8 CUSCO/PUNO

The Bus Turismo from Cusco to Puno is a Public bus, but only for tourists.  It stops along several sites of Interests and ruins, such as the Church in the path of Andahuaylillas seventeenth century, where can might see behind a rather modest exterior interior of exceptional beauty, a Mudejar ceiling on a vault richly embellished with numerous murals and paintings. It also visits Pikillacta, a semi pre-Incan city of the Wari Culture destroyed in the seventh century, which kept its ancient mystery and extravagant architecture. It is situated in the valley of Cusco near Lake Huacarpay. Then visit the ruins of Raqchi, where the remains will be high main wall of the Temple of Viracocha, probably the largest roofed building made by the Incas. On both sides of the high wall, large sloping roofs were supported by rows of unusual round pillars and with finishes of adobe. Nearby are the remains of large rooms for housing and many circular buildings used to store food. The entire complex is surrounded by a large stone wall several miles long. The bus will stop at La Raya Pass, at 4.321 meters high, to visit the steaming pools of hot springs nearby. The journey continues to Puno with stops at the Inca ruins of Pucara. Arrival in Puno early in the afternoon. Buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Sichuan.  The journey takes from 7 to 8 hours.  Arriving in Puno around 5:30 in the afternoon. B/BL


Day 9 Seakayak Short Escape - Llachon / Taquile

Leaving early from Puno, we enter the road to Llachon at Illpa, passing the villages of Huata and Coata.  Here we continue along the peninsula of CapaChica, discovering the great views of the lake and its castal landscape until we reach the community of Llachon, our embarkation point.  After a short briefing we receive the appropriate safety equipment and embark on our three to four hour sea-kayaking adventure.  We start paddling through the coastline of Ccapachica peninsula to then cross towards Taquile island.  The support boat which carry your luggage will follow us at a safe distance.  On arrival we settle into the family home lodge will house us comfortably for the night, have lunch and spend the rest of the day exploring the island.  Overnight overlooking the lake, with beautiful views of the Cordillera Real.  (There is also the option to return to Llachon and spend the night there). Day 10 TAQUILE/ LLACHON

After breakfast we proceed to explore the coastline of the island by kayak and then head across the open water again returning to our starting point.  Lunch at Llachon before returning to the mainland from the peninsula.  Overnight in Puno Hotel. B/L


Day 11 PUNO/ LIMA

Morning transfer to Sillustani for a guided  tour before heading to the airport. 
This pre-Inca cemetery on the shores of Lake Sillustani Umayo where are located the most massive stone cylinders which are known as chullpas cylindrical necropolis were buried where the great dignitaries of the Tiahuanaco culture. Sillustani has been considered the religious capital of this culture. Sillustani was considered a sacred place for those who populated the plateau for more than three thousand years.
Transfer to the airport to board ongoing flight. B
