A traditional agricultural region in Peru, Ica is an oasis in the desert which produces some of Peru’s finest piscos and wines. From here you can visit Paracas, Peru’s only marine national reserve and the Ballestas Islands, known as the “poor man’s Galapagos” due to abundant wildlife and accessible prices. From Ica you can also catch a small aircraft and fly over the enigmatic Nazca lines – declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 and one of the most fascinating mysteries of in archaeological history.
